Hastings Half Marathon runner-up Ben Fish said the support of the big race crowd yesterday (Sunday) made him feel like a local.

The Blackburn Harriers & AC star split the two Kenyan runners to finish second in a time of 1:07:36 - 28 seconds outside his victory time in 2010.

Fish said: “The crowd are always great here. They did shout for me pretty loud so I felt like a local really. I always like coming down and the support’s brilliant.

“I can’t fault everybody; everyone gets out. Even at the top of the hills, everywhere really, they’re all about cheering. I really appreciate that and it helps drive us on.”
