Previously, the top tier had brought the deadline forward, after a number of club's claimed it caused disruption during the initial stages of the domestic campaign.
However, with clubs in Europe not following the same procedure, Premier League clubs suffered the new issue of potentially losing players before the end of the month, without being able to bring in new replacements.

Hide AdThis summer, the system will revert back in line with clubs in Europe, and will see the transfer window close on 1st September at 17:00 BST.
Brighton & Hove Albion, who are currently just two points clear of the relegation zone, will be desperate to put a run of wins together in the coming weeks, as they look to maintain their Premier League status.
