Abie Kandeh, who produced a cardcut design of a penguin family said she was ‘thrilled’ to be chosen as a winner. She said: “With my card, the comfort of friends and family made me think of how the penguins huddle for warmth. I hope the work of Samaritans can be seen in this protective and supportive manner with my little festive penguin family wishing you season’s greetings!”
Olivia Bedall also used a penguin theme and says: “I am glad to be able to help with such a worthwhile charity. I know Samaritans have been very helpful within our college community and it is good to be able to give something back.

The cards are available at Horsham Museum and at Collyer’s, Hurst Road, Horsham.
Olivia and Abie will be presented with their awards after Christmas by Julie Walters, patron of Samaritans of Horsham and Crawley.
Samaritans is a self-funded charity which offers a safe and non-judgemental haven for people to talk through their emotional distress and fears in complete confidence.
