Bystanders who attempted to resuscitate a man who suffered a heart attack in Horsham today (Thursday October 9) have been thanked by paramedics.

The man collapsed in Guildford Road at about 2pm, and has been taken to East Surrey Hospital in a life-threatening condition.

A spokesperson for South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) thanked members of the public for ‘providing resuscitation attempts’ prior to the arrival of three ambulances at the scene.

Police were also at the scene of the incident directing traffic.
