A man was treated by paramedics on Good Friday (April 3) after the car he was driving came off the road and collided with a tree.

West Sussex Fire and Rescue also attended the incident on the A281 Horsham Road at Cowfold just before 9am.

A spokesman said a male driver was taken to hospital by ambulance and fire officers made the scene safe.

A spokesman for South East Coast Ambulance service added: “We sent a car and an ambulance to the scene. One patient, a male in his thirties, was suffering from back pain, head and wrist injuries.

“He was treated at the scene before being taken as a priority to Royal Sussex hospital in Brighton.”
