37. Olu Adeniyi - Labour & Cooperative Party - Tilgate
I have lived in Crawley with my family for many years and wish to do more for the community. If elected I will be a strong advocate for Tilgate. I support the fantastic future investment the Labour Council is planning for Tilgate Park and our nature centre. I will work to keep the neighbourhood well maintained, clean, safe and tidy. It is important that Tilgate has a strong voice on Crawley Borough Council and, if elected, I will be that strong voice for Tilgate. Photo: submitted

Growing up, politics wasn’t an interest of mine, it wasn’t taught in school and not many people understood it, it was believed that it was a ‘members only’ set-up. I’ve always been someone that questions everything, if something doesn’t make sense, why doesn’t it make sense; politics was something I just couldn’t get my head around, my view of it now is that there’s no left or right just right or wrong. There’re too many stories of people being financially incentivised to make decisions and this is wrong; too many stories of people having to chose between heating and eating and this is wrong; too many stories of people being threatened in their own homes by corporations wanting money and this is wrong. There is so much wrong going on that everyday men and women need to take back control and I want to help; this is why I am standing as a candidate. Photo: submitted

The Crawley I grew up in had many adventure playgrounds and youth centres, it had a vibrant Queens Square, it had free events including the Crawley Carnival to look forward to, but we’re losing everything! For 10 years we’ve had a Labour administration with no vision, led by people seeking political careers. Our Labour leader from Bognor ran for Horsham MP in 2019 and Police Crime Commissioner in 2016! I want to return to the council because someone has to hold these people to account. Born in Crawley, grew up in Crawley, six years a Tilgate councillor, my focus is *SHOCK*… CRAWLEY!No political career for me, thanks, I just want our neighbourhoods to be clean and tidy, a calendar of fun, free, yearly events for Crawley residents to look forward to, and a council focused on our community and not on political in-fighting, point scoring, and selfish career building. A greener future for everyone. I’m running to be a local councillor because I believe in the benefits of the community and local government working together enhance our quality of life. I believe my heart is in the right place when it comes to matters of community and the environment. In cooperation and finding common ground. I love election day. A chance for everyone to exercise their right to vote for any candidate they like. Go well everyone this election day.
