Mark of respect to Prince Philip at Horsham war memorial

'As a mark of respect' to His Royal Highness, Prince Philip, Horsham District Council chairman, councillor Karen Burgess the council’s armed forces champion, councillor Peter Burgess and Nigel Caplin, of the Horsham Branch of the Royal British Legion, visited the war memorial in Horsham earlier this week.
"The Union Jack is being flown at half-mast," a district council spokesperson said.

The Duke of Edinburgh’s funeral is taking place this afternoon (Saturday, April 17) with millions of people expected to watch the service around the world.
However, due to coronavirus restrictions only 30 people have attended the ceremony at St George’s Chapel.
