Library fees fury
I HAVE just noticed that West Sussex Libraries have managed to sneak through an increase in the fees for reserving books from 60p to 75p – a rise of 25 per cent.
This has been done when they are cutting back library staff, introducing self-service checking machines and introducing part-time, volunteer staff.
I think this is totally disgusting and I expect it has been done by West Sussex Council fat-cats that hardly ever, if at all, use the library service.
For me, a pensioner, the cost of reserving a book is now equivalent to one lunch – well done!
