CHURCH NEWS: The 9.30am service will be Parish Eucharist led by Rev. Malcolm Jones. This is the 21st Sunday after Trinity, designated as Healthcare Sunday. Probably this is because Thursday18th is Saint Luke’s day. St. Luke’s Little Summer, a few short, summer-like days often occurs at this time. Frideswide, an Abbess, the Patron of Oxford is remembered on Wednesday 19th, and Trafalgar Day, 1805, on Friday 21st, which is also Apple Day.
WEATHER: The terrible hurricane Matthew has not caused us any nasty storms yet. As it progresses northwards up the coast of America, we watch carefully for increase winds coming our way. Today it is sunny and warm-ish. No rain is forecast. There are still roses in the garden and mowing is still necessary.
