14-year-old Freya Morris has raised an impressive £625 for a charity helping youngsters with eating disorders by showing initiative and organising a live music gig.

Freya, a pupil at Oathall Community College in Haywards Heath, does not have an eating disorder but she knows friends who are sufferers and wanted to help them.

She organised a gig at the United Services Club earlier this month and has raised more than £625 so far, with more money expected from donations at a Rok Skool gig.

Freya performed with her friend Faye at the United Services Club and was delighted when You-tube sensation, singer, songwriter and ukulele player DoddleOddle, agreed to perform free of charge.

The money raised by Freya will go to the charity ‘B-eat’.
