A Ford Transit van and a lorry with a trailer carrying fairground equipment crashed on Tanyard Lane near Strand Hill at around 2.20pm on Sunday, July 31.
It appears the lorry failed to stop so the van driver decided to follow it towards Ashford, Kent, and got in front of it, a police spokesman said.

Both drivers were uninjured but a 46-year-old woman passenger in the van suffered whiplash.
Police are looking for any witnesses to the incident and are particularly interested in speaking to two motorcyclists that saw the initial crash.
