Bexhill creative learning hub set for £30K council grant?

The Bexhill Hive’s application for Rother District Council’s community grants scheme looks to be successful as the grants panel recommended it for approval.
The £130,000 pot is for community projects and the hive’s plans to kit its classrooms out with Apple Macbooks and cover half the salary of a business manager with the grant look likely to hit the criteria.

Hide AdBexhill Cricket Club’s application for £5,760 to buy a second-hand mower also seems promising as the panel suggested approving a £4,800 grant to cover half of the project’s overall cost.
The 1st Sidley All Saints Scouts wanted £1,500 to purchase a new trailer to carry camping equipment and the panel also recommended it for approval.
Rother Seniors Forum asked for £400 to support a double celebration of its 10th anniversary and the Queen’s 90th birthday in June at St Peter’s Community Centre, through a special grants scheme for Her Majesty’s special day.
The panel supported the forum’s application but cabinet will make the final decision on all of the proposals when it meets on Monday (May 9).
